We’re made up of two generations of builders and are a family-owned and operated business. After 30-years of servicing the Northern California community, we decided to do our part to positively impact the earth and the lives of those we serve by building ADUs to help families stay closer together, earn rental income, and help solve the housing crisis that we are facing across the country. Started by Colton and Shylia Paulhus, along with Colton’s younger brother, Austin, and his dad, Scott, we are a business that seeks to treat our employees, partners, and customers like members of our ever-growing family!
Our team of industry-leading experts works closely with homeowners to design and construct a variety of tiny home solutions. Specializing in detached, attached and garage conversion ADUs, we pride ourselves on our expert craftsmanship, attention to detail and commitment to using quality materials. All of our ADUs are stick-built right on your property, which almost completely eliminates access issues that may prevent you from being able to build an ADU.
Colton helps us all serve our customers at the highest possible level and continue to improve every day here at Anchored Tiny Homes by constantly looking to the future and find ways that we can improve. After having started and run many businesses of his own as well as growing up in a construction family, he takes all of his experience and uses it to give our customers the best product and customer service of any ADU builder!
When he’s not working at Anchored Tiny Homes he enjoys hunting and spending time with his wife, Shylia, and their 2 daughters!
Austin is the “Operation and Management Guru” here at Anchored Tiny Homes where he works extensively with our teams to create and develop systems and a fantastic culture to give every single one of our customers the exact ADU they wanted. With a long history of athletics, he takes that competitive mindset and strife excellence into his work, helping us to create an ADU that is unparalleled in quality and has the best customer service around.
When he’s not working at Anchored Tiny Homes he loves to hunt, watch sports, and spend time with his family.
Colton and Austin’s father, Scott, has been in construction for over 32 years and owned many construction companies of his own ranging from building homes to building garages and sheds. After finally deciding to slow down, Colton and Austin got him to come out of retirement to help start Anchored Tiny Homes with the goal of helping solve the housing crisis around the country! He brings his extensive knowledge and experience in the industry to help our team continue to improve and create the best ADUs around.
When he’s not working at Anchored he spends his time hunting, traveling with his wife, Lynette, and spending time with his grandkids!

We have a trusted team of experts that will be building your new ADU from the ground up right on your property and handling every part of your project from the foundation to the finishes with excellence!
We handle the whole process for you from start to finish. Starting with the design, then putting together plans and blueprints, getting everything submitted and approved for permits, building your ADU on your property, and hooking everything up to utilities. In the end, you get a completed, move-in-ready ADU right in your backyard!

Yes, we do offer shell or unfinished versions of our ADUs.
With our shell model ADUs, we still handle the whole process for you and finish everything except for the interior of the ADU.
For the interior of a shell model ADU, we would complete rough plumbing, rough electrical, and framing leaving the rest for you to complete on your own or using your own subcontractors.
The cost of a shell model ADU is approximately 60% of the cost of one of our finished units!
